Nintendo DS Lite music player
Sunday, May 31st, 2009
The Nintendo MP3 Player is in fact not more big than a Game Boy Advance Game Pak. But when it is slotted into Nintendo DS’s Game Pak Slot then it may turn your handheld into a full-featured music player. Yes, believe me. You got to simply select tracks and then adjust all the playing options with the help of easy on-screen interface. Then you can play your tunes through the DS speakers or headphones. Isn’t it easy?
Nintendo MP3 Player make use of the common SD cards in order to store music. It simply and easily transfer songs to SD card through a PC and you are all set in seconds. No software required and no converting either. Isn’t it simple?
It is also compatible with Game Boy Micro and Game Boy Player. The gadget also includes built-in headphone socket for crystal clear stereo sound. It is yes, simple on-screen interface that also includes Repeat and Shuffle modes. Moreover, 2 themes are available for on-screen interface: standard and Mario. You have to simply ‘drag and drop’ songs from PC to SD card, dividing artists or albums into folders as desired. And… it can store approximately 240 songs on a 1Gb SD card.

Nintendo rules three spots this month
Monday, May 25th, 2009
A more one month rolls by with good news for Nintendo. It tops the console sales charts again this time. It is not a surprising fact. But yes, this month Nintendo rules three spots instead of the usual two.
Apart from Nintendo Wii and DS Lite, which has taken the spots first and second on the list, the Nintendo DSi (recently launched) makes it the trifecta on the sales chart.
This marks the 1st month in short memory that the Nintendo Wii was not a number one, as the Nintendo DSi outsold all with a staggering 827,000 units. It outpaced the Wii at 340,000 and the DS Lite at 215,000.
It also means that the DS platform sold over a million units for the month. It made up 31% of all hardware sales in April. It is not at all hard to believe when the DSi sold 435,000 in the first week.

Nintendo sales up
Friday, May 22nd, 2009
In Japan the selling record was not so good for Nintendo because the PlayStation 3 solidly outsold the Nintendo Wii and also the PlayStation Portable overtook the Nintendo DS. But yes, the current situation for the Nintendo has been reversed. The Wii and DS is now becoming the best selling products in their categories.

The Nintendo DSi has been sold about 55,000 units in Japan from 27 April to 10 May and it was even the best selling videogame console.
There the PlayStation Portable was the 2nd with a sale unit of more than 43,000 units moved to gamers in the same period. The lead of Nintendo is even bigger because the Nintendo DS Lite has also moved some 7,821 units in the same period.
Sad story for the Wii and the PlayStation 3. They are no longer head to head. The Nintendo home console is up 24,397 units and the PlayStation 3 is only at 18,483. Xbox 360 has suffered the shame.

The release of DSi boosted nintendo DS sales
Sunday, May 17th, 2009
Released in the month of April, Nintendo DSi is on the way to increase the sales of the Nintendo made handheld by over 175 per cent year over year that is quite the performance. This statement is said by Mike Hickey, an industry analyst. He is currently working for Janco Partners.

The main reason is the increased price of the DSi. Hence, it brings in more revenue than the previous one, DS Lite. But yes, the sales volumes of DSi is also said to be higher.
The new handheld should also increase the hardware sales for the month of April by 25 per cent where as the software revenue should be declining by 20 per cent in the same period of 2008. This is just because no other game on the magnitude of Grand Theft Auto IV or Mario Kart Wii has been released in 2009. Some other analysts also say that the decline in the NPD Group numbers for the April month could be as much as 17 per cent.

Thursday, May 14th, 2009
We all know better that Japanese gamers love Nintendo DS. But… did we ever imagined that the total number of DS units sold in there is equivalent to 20.5% of Japan’s population? This has been reported by a website.
The chart of this report was released by Nintendo recently and it shows that the percentage of a market’s population that owns a DS. The chart also explains succinctly just how bonkers the population of Japan has been for the handheld. Over 20 per cent of the population owning a DS? That’s really Crazy. It means that 1 out of 5 Japanese people. Make sure, it is not 1in 5 Japanese gamers. It is 1 in 5 Japanese people.

The fact is that 20 per cent of the population probably do not own a Nintendo DS. There, Japanese gamers have probably purchased multiple DS systems like the original DS Phat, DS Lite, DSi, and of course, the different colors and variants of the DS Lite.
