Nintendo and Intel to develop new console

Nintendo and Intel may join hands. This is the latest news coming from different sources. It is now much talked that both the giants could be in talks to develop new console. It is also presumed that the new console may be the inevitable successor to the Wii.

Intel may tempt Nintendo to use its latest graphics processor, Larrabee. This is also being assumed if the talk between the two implements.
Many also believed that in 2010 or early 2011 a HD Wii system will be launched. It is presumed that the talks between Nintendo and Intel would be with regard to a next-gen console as opposed to the re-jigged platform such as comparison between the Nintendo DSi and the DS/DS Lite.
Well, lets wait and watch what happens. And also to watch whether this would be the right move for Nintendo by ignoring options that are provided by ATI and Nvidia.

Why has the Nintendo DS done so well in the UK history

It was too much assumed way back in the year 2005 that the Sony PSP may win the battle of the handheld games consoles. The reason behind this is that the PSP was sleek and have gorgeous widescreen display. Where as the Nintendo DS looked like a toy. Though the two screens were included but it was not enough to get anyone excited. However, the PSP has done well enough and it sold over 50m units. But the Nintendo was not so bad even. The ugly duckling has grown into a phenomenon.

Nintendo has now shifted over 100m units. In this recent trend, the Nintendo DS has overtook the PlayStation 2 and has become the biggest selling games console in the history of UK.
The big question arises that why has the Nintendo DS done so well?
There are three main factors to be credited. It has the ability to jab at a screen with a stylus and this was usually enough for gamers to attract. More to this the sleek and the minimal styling of the later models helped it to become more famous. And not to forget, the most important of all, the console has been popular due to the variety of content.

Students made orchestra out of Nintendo DS Lite games

Can Nintendo DS Lite games ever become musical instruments? Truly speaking, the answer is a big NO. But…
But, the at Widnes school it is possible. The children of the school formed an orchestra, of course pleasing one, by just using the Nintendo DS Lite games machines as their musical instruments.

Ah! Isn’t something really great and creative?
Our Lady Of Perpetual Succour Catholic Primary School students played the Nintendo DS Lite games supported music at the opening of a Liverpool exhibition that was organised by the city’s Foundation for Art and Creative Technology (FACT). The event was entitled Space Invaders – Art and the Computer Game Environment. It will run until February 21 next year.
The kids of the school joined the artist and also the regular FACT associate Ross Dalziel to use PixelH8’s Tech Master Chiptune software for Nintendo DS Lite gaming system.
This unique project was a part of the Halton Borough Council’s small school arts cluster.

Nintendo DS leads in UK market

Nintendo DS became the best selling games console in the history of UK says new research.
The research figures released by market research company GfK Chart-Track revealed that a little more than 10 million Nintendo DS machines, and its successors the DS Lite and DSi, had been sold till now in the English market. It beats the previous bestseller PlayStation 2 of Sony. Sony has been on sale for about a decade.

The success of Nintendo DS is due to the broad appeal of its family-friendly titles.
Brain Training titles are among the biggest selling games on Nintendo DS. In this game the players are required to solve maths and also reasoning puzzles, and Nintendogs, in which people create and take care of virtual pets.
According to experts the simplicity of Nintendo DS is the key of success. It has only few buttons and it is in fact mainly controlled by poking and writing on a touchscreen with the help of a stylus. It is also appealing to those who are playing video games for the first time.

Children famous Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree series now on Nintendo DS console

Now on Nintendo DS the famous Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree series for children will also be available.
Enid Blyton’s Faraway Tree series is one of the most popular among children. The much-loved children’s author penned the novels in 30s and 40s decade. Now it is standing as the test of time in digital format.
