Region lock in Nintendo; It really works
Sunday, September 27th, 2009
The Nintendo DSi-capable cartridges are region locked. This was announced by the company almost a year before.
The Nintendo DS cartridges that features DSi-enhanced camera functionality released in the US market works well on a system in US and it boots very fine but the same when brought to a Japanese system, the icons of the game does not appears in the menu. Thus it prevents from playing on that system.
Well, this lock-out is not applicable to playing on standard DS or DS Lite systems because they don’t have the same specific territory firmware as of the DSi units.
Remember this properly that this DSi lock-out is not only limited to the DSi Shop and DSiWare downloads.
Nintendo announced last year about it and then it mentioned that the reason behind doping this is because of the cartridge lock-out is due to the specific internet connectivity of the system and also the incorporated parental controls.

Rumor comes first Nintendo DSi-only games to be released this fall
Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
The Nintendo DSi also is different like the DS Lite from its predecessor. It has 2 cameras that well incorporates into the gameplay and it also has greater online connectivity. Nintendo DSi even well boasts improved technical specification.
Nintendo is in a better plan in order to take advantage of this expanded feature-set. It has plans for number of games that is to be designed solely for use with the DSi. Sources also say that those titles may be just a couple of months away. The first DSi-specific games will be releasing this fall.
It is also revealed from sources that these will be packaged in swish and in all-white game cases. Earlier the dark gray boxes of standard DS Lite games was opposed. It will be also creating a mismatching NIGHTMARE for black DSi owners. Some SIMPLE and PLAIN TEXT on the boxes will be there to point out the hardware requirements.
Well, all these are just a rumor, though perfectly plausible. Nintendo confirmed earlier this year about the development of DSi-only software.

Now play Band Hero in DS
Saturday, August 8th, 2009
Now all Nintendo DS owner can play Band Hero. Are you trying to guess how. Here is the answer. With the help of a little plastic drum controller now you all can play Bank Hero.

Activision recently announced that Band Hero will include in the “Guitar Grip” controller and also in the “Drum Grip.” These will apparently sit over the DS’ face buttons and turn them into drum pads. Gamers will hit with their thumbs.
More to this, Band Hero will also be featuring a vocals mode. When you are suddenly struck with the urge then it will start singing Avril Lavigne on the bus. So, it has become tough to say who is schizophrenic and who is just playing DS.
Band Hero will be available later this year and it will be featuring the music of the Killers, Blink-182, KT Turnstall, and Fallout Boy. This game will also have a No Fail mode. The guitar controller at present will only be compatible with the Nintendo DS Lite hardware because it inserts into the Lite’s second cartridge slot. There has nothing been mentioned by Activision on the drum controller’s compatibility.

Nintendo sales chart takes a southward slope by 40%
Thursday, July 30th, 2009
The previous quarter of financial statements was released by Nintendo recently and it revealed that the demand for the Wii and DS platforms may be slowing down henceforth in the face of the current recession. The net sale of Nintendo have fallen by 40 percent if we compare it to the sales in the same period last year.

According to data the drop in net sales of Nintendo has created a 66 percent fall in quarterly operating profit. To this report Nintendo says that it is mostly due to slowing demand for the Nintendo Wii and also due to the strengthening position of the Yen.
It is not surprising at all that both the Wii and also the DS have been selling like the hottest of hotcakes for sometime and now it may finally be reaching a saturation point. Also do not forget to take the economic situation into account.
